✨ We concluded the Pelvic Power program in Uganda with deep gratitude. 2024 Annual Report
After months of preparation, excitement, learning and cooperation, Red Girls Project proudly announces the completion of the program Pelvic Power in the community of Masaka, Uganda. This pioneering initiative, focused on women's pelvic health, has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of a committed team and the essential financial support of Official College of Physiotherapists of Catalonia, We would like to express our deepest gratitude to them for their trust and commitment to this project.
A necessary path towards pelvic health
Pelvic Power was created to bring pelvic health education to women of all ages in Masaka, a region that, like many others on the African continent, suffers from a significant lack of access to healthcare and educational resources. The consequences of this lack of information translate into problems such as urinary incontinence, prolapse, postpartum difficulties, and low body image, all of which are rendered invisible by persistent cultural taboos.
During November 2024, a team of professionals from the Red Girls Project traveled to Uganda to conduct theoretical and practical workshops on pelvic floor health, active pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. The sessions took place at the Kiwanuka Medical Clinic, thanks to a new partnership formed after a change of plans on-site and the withdrawal of the initial collaboration with WECO Uganda.
Transformative results
In total, the following were carried out 6 community workshops with the participation of 40 women, and 3 specific training programs for local health professionals, such as doctors, nurses and midwives, who now have updated tools to continue transmitting this knowledge in their consultations.
The attendees expressed their gratitude and surprise at learning such necessary and practical techniques, many of which they could apply immediately. In turn, the professionals expressed their willingness to continue sharing what they had learned, thus laying the foundation for lasting change in community health.

Educational materials and sustainability
Thanks to the grant we received, we were able to create and deliver adapted teaching materials: dossiers, exercise guides, anatomical models, sports equipment, and visual resources. Some of this material will remain at the local clinic, ensuring that the workshops can be replicated in the future.
Furthermore, any unused funds from the implementation period will be reserved to cover the printing costs of new materials in 2025, as agreed with the collaborating clinic. This gesture reinforces our commitment to the project's sustainability beyond our physical presence.
A committed team
We want to acknowledge the work of the team involved, who contributed their experience, effort, and passion to make this project a transformative reality. Their ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances was key to the program's success.
We also thank all the people from Uganda who actively participated, from the clinic professionals to the community leaders who facilitated contact with the participants.
We continue working for better health and more justice
Pelvic Power has been a milestone in our work for women's health and empowerment. Through education and support, we have instilled knowledge and confidence in dozens of women, with the firm desire that this impact will multiply.
We continue working to replicate this model in other regions of the African continent and around the world. This is just the beginning.
